To My Patients…
I am delighted to announce some exciting and important changes for our practice! It has been a true privilege to care for you and to develop a personal and meaningful relationship with each of my patients. This is the most fulfilling aspect of my work, and I am committed to continue to provide the high quality care you expect, the reason you have put your trust in me as your physician.
Why make a change?
Changes in healthcare have made it difficult for physicians to provide the high quality, individualized care every person deserves. Demands from insurance companies and regulatory agencies have eroded face-to-face time between a patient and her physician. This current model is not sustainable over the long term for many reasons. To regain control from these outside forces, I am redesigning my practice model, based on a direct care membership model. As always, I will be able to focus on the patient-physician relationship but now without third party interference. This change will enable me to continue to provide five-star medical care to you.
In addition, many of you know that I have taken a break from primary care for nearly 5 years — a very difficult decision for me — and I have missed having that particular role in my patients’ lives. For that reason, I can now also serve as your primary care physician. I will continue to provide integrative approaches to care, osteopathic treatments and auricular acupuncture, as well.
In recognition of this exciting change, our new name will be Balance Family Medicine.
What does our change mean for you?
As always, I will provide your care with an emphasis on preventing and reversing disease, and minimizing use of medication. You will continue to always see me. Every visit. Every time.
Joining our small members-only practice will allow you to receive a broad range of outpatient care and enjoy many important benefits not typically found in medical practices today — which should translate into better health for you!
One membership fee will cover all routine primary care provided in our office without additional co-pays or deductibles. In addition, acupuncture treatments will be included with every membership, and osteopathic treatments will be included in the Harmony Plan.

By using a membership model, patients may decrease the frequency of hospitalizations and specialist referrals, require less medication, and feel more in control of their own health. Because this model of care eliminates an overbooked schedule, I can take more time to understand your history and goals for your future, as well as partner with you to help you meet those goals.
How to Continue as My Patient
If you wish to join our practice, please inform us as soon as possible to reserve your place and take advantage of our special Founders’ pricing which is “locked in” for the first two years. Please note that after November 1, 2020, I will no longer be participating in private insurance plans, Medicare or Medicare Advantage plans.
Can I still be a patient if I have Medicare?
My relationship with my longstanding Medicare patients is important to me! If you have Medicare, please call the office or click here for detailed information and important changes.
Do I need to keep medical insurance?
Yes. Although your membership fee will cover the vast majority of your primary care needs, it is essential that you and your family maintain a medical insurance policy to cover those costs not included in your membership (such as hospitalizations, services provided by specialists, diagnostic testing and prescription drugs).

Our Founders’ pricing will be offered until November 1, 2020. After that, we will only be seeing patients who have elected to join. We understand that some people will not choose to stay with the practice, however we remain committed to assisting you with your health care through November 1, 2020. If you choose not to enroll, we will provide names of other qualified physicians.
